Sim Graveline - I design systems, build 2D levels, teach juniors and manage teams.
Game and level designer; ex-Ubisoft Montreal and ex-Tribute Games. I build game systems, enemy AI and levels that hold up at team scale — and I prototype them myself using Unity and GameMaker. Throughout my career, I got to work on pretty much every living room console and handheld system since the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo Game Boy Advance, as well as VR, Mobile and PC.
As a designer, I see the whole of a project, its domino effects, and I know how to structure something from nothing. As a lead, I strive to grasp the stakes of a project, balancing the company's goals with team motivation.
I co-founded Isart Digital Montreal, where I created the game design curriculum and taught design, prototyping, and game production — on top of managing the team of teachers, which forced me to understand my craft on a deeper level, as well as to clarify my thinking and share it.
I'm looking for a remote or hybrid game design role, focused on mobile development, at human-scale projects with studios that have a proven track record of shipping games.
I'm using Grave Games as a platform to develop my own mobile games. Currently working on Dice Royal, set to be published on iOS, Android and possibly Netflix.

Throughout my career as a designer, I've had the privilege of teaching my trade to aspiring game designers and coaching juniors, as well as introducing game development to elementary and high school kids through workshops given in schools and various organizations. Sharing my passion for game creation with younglings eager to learn is probably one of the most rewarding things I've had the opportunity to do. As an added bonus, teaching your trade really challenges what you take for granted, forcing you to think more deeply about all the subtleties of your craft.
